Pressure sensor definition and functionAutomotive pressure sensors sense pressure changes through built-in pressure sensitive elements (such as semiconductor strain gauges, metal diaphragms, etc.) and convert these changes into electrical output. These electrical signals can be received and processed by the electronic control system of the car, so as to realize the precise control and monitoring of the various systems of the car (such as the braking system, the oil pressure system, etc.
Basic principles of pressure sensorsThe main working principle of pressure sensor includes piezoelectric effect, piezoresistive effect, strain effect and so on. Among them, piezoelectric sensors use the piezoelectric effect, that is, some materials will produce charges when subjected to external forces, by measuring these charges to sense pressure changes; Piezoresistive sensor makes use of piezoresistive effect, that is, the resistance value of the material will change when it is subjected to pressure, and senses the pressure by measuring the change of resistance value. The strain sensor uses the strain effect, that is, the material will deform when subjected to external force, and senses the pressure by measuring the deformation.
