What is the lifespan of a Zirconia oxygen sensor?How to make the oxygen sensor have a long service life ? what is the expected life of the SST zirconium oxide oxygen sensor? How to delay the service life of the oxygen sensor? There are many things we can do, but more importantly, we can try to avoid the use of many chemicals and gases to prevent contamination of the oxygen sensor and replace the oxygen sensor as early as possible.
1. Clean, dry air (such as aircraft OBIGGS) application: more than 10 years
2. Natural gas combustion (low sulfur): more than 5 years
3. Biomass combustion exhaust measurement (wood chips, pellets, etc.): more than 2 years
4. Flue gas measurement of coal combustion (low sulfur): more than 2 years
5. Compost fermentation: more than 1 year
These lifespans are experience and cannot be fully guaranteed. If the oxygen sensor is physically damaged, chemicals polution, or incorrect heater power supply , their service life will be shortened.
Observing the color of the top part of the oxygen sensor to determine fault :1.Light grey tip: This is the normal color of the oxygen sensor;
2.White tip: Caused by silicon pollution, it is time need to replace the oxygen sensor;
3.Brown tip: Caused by lead pollution, if serious, the oxygen sensor must also be replaced;
4.Black tip: Caused by carbon deposits, after eliminating the engine carbon deposit fault, the carbon deposits on the oxygen sensor can generally be automatically removed.
