Oxygen sensor functionThe oxygen sensor measures whether there is an excess of oxygen in the exhaust gas after engine combustion and converts the oxygen content into a voltage signal to transmit to the vehicle''s ECU. The ECU judges whether the air-fuel ratio is low or high based on the electromotive force difference from the oxygen sensor and accordingly controls the duration of fuel injection, enabling the engine to achieve closed-loop control targeting the excess air factor. This ensures that the three-way catalytic converter achieves maximum conversion efficiency for the three pollutants in the exhaust gas: hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NOX), thereby maximizing the conversion and purification of emissions pollutants.
Oxygen sensor classificationThere are two types of oxygen sensors in practical applications: zirconium oxide oxygen sensors and titanium oxide oxygen sensors. Commonly used oxygen sensors are divided into Rivini lead, double lead and two lead types; single lead is zirconium oxide oxygen sensor; double lead is titanium oxide oxygen sensor; two lead is cooling zirconium oxide oxygen sensor. Oxygen sensors with four lead types alone cannot be used as substitutes.
